The majority of our surgeries are performed at Lions Gate Hospital, however, our surgeons also have operating privileges at Squamish General Hospital, Sechelt Hospital and the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine.
Do I need preoperative testing or consultations?
We want you to have the best possible outcome from your surgery and this starts well before your operation. Depending on the procedure, your urological condition and your overall health, you may require pre-surgical testing. This may involve a laboratory tests and consultation with our anesthesiologists in advance of your operation. For some individuals, an internal medicine assessment may be recommended. Your urologist will inform you if any preoperative tests or consultations are required.
What do I need to do before my operation?
Your urologist will inform you of any important instructions to follow prior to your operation. If you have a preoperative anesthesia consultation, the anesthesiology team may give you additional instructions.
Most of the time, you will be receiving a phone call the day before your operation from our medical office assistant with details and instructions such as the time of your procedure, where to check-in, and when to start fasting.
Preoperative Health Questionnaire
All patients scheduled for an operation must complete a Pre-Operative Patient Health Questionnaire. You can drop this off at our office or return by fax (604.987.8130).
